How to Cut Lower Than the Minimum Height on Mammotion Luba & Yuka

One of the most frequent questions from Mammotion owners: “Can the Luba cut lower?” Out of the box, no — the factory height adjustment stops well above what many people consider a properly short lawn. If you're used to a tightly cut Scandinavian or golf-inspired finish, the Luba's minimum can feel frustratingly tall.

The solution: a lowering kit

Our Luba/Yuka lowering kit physically lowers the cutting system relative to the chassis, so the same height settings translate into a shorter actual cut. It's available in several steps — from a subtle 5 mm to a full 30 mm drop — so you can choose how aggressive to go. It's one of our most popular products, rated 4.9/5 by owners.

Which drop should you choose?

  • 5–10 mm — a noticeably tighter cut while keeping plenty of ground clearance. The safe starting point for most lawns.
  • 15–20 mm — a distinctly short, manicured look. Best on flat, even lawns.
  • 30 mm — the maximum drop, for very flat lawns where you want the shortest possible finish.

What to consider before lowering

Lowering the cut also lowers effective ground clearance, so be honest about your lawn: bumps, roots, molehills and steep transitions all argue for a smaller drop. Start conservative — you can always go lower next season. And as with any modification, check the result over a small test area before sending the mower across the whole property.

Pairs well with

A lower cut means the underside runs closer to fresh clippings, so disc covers and the sealing kit are natural companions — the covers shield the top of the cutting discs, and the seal replaces the grass-trapping cages at the spindle, keeping the shorter, denser clippings out of the blades and motor area.

All kits are 3D-printed to order in Sweden and ship from the EU in 1–3 business days.
